A card for Mum

A pretty Easel Card I made for Mum this Mother's Day using
pretty paper from My Mind's Eye along with pearls, lace, flowers and ribbon,
giving it that Vintage loveliness Mum loves.
The word Mum was cut using my Cricut Expressions Machine,
the letters were cut many times, to build height
giving it more of a 3d effect.

Baby Gift Bag - Cricut - Tags Bags Boxes & More 2

Hello to all my blogging friends. I know, you are probably saying Jodie who!!!!! It has been well over 12 months since my last post. As some of you may be aware I haven't well & needed to take some time out, this contributed to me losing my crafting mojo. I'm slowly getting some of my mojo back and have been playing around with my much loved cricut machine.

I made this simple but adorable Baby Gift Box using the Onesie on page 45 in Tags Bags Boxes and More 2.

Cut 1 @ 9" in plain coloured cardstock

I wanted to use the pretty spot designer paper but needed the heavier weight of the cardstock. Using CCR (Cricut CraftRoom), I selected the again but this time @ 8.75"

I cropped just the front side of the box, giving me the layered look I wanted.

Then using CCR Basics - cut @ 1"
Glitter and glimmered and stuck on with a pop dot for dimension.

Decorate as you wish, stitch layers (faux or for real) I used wide lace around the neck and narrower lace around the legs, adding a pretty bow and pearl to finish off.

back in January Lucy from Flourish with a Bling
asked me if I would be interested in becoming a Guest DT for them. Of course I jumped at the chance, I love love love all their beautiful embellies.  They are not new to me though, I fell in love with them a long time ago, I use their beautiful flourishes, pearls and rhinestones and have been for sometime. Back when I was a DT for Tickled Pink Stamps the gorgeous Kellie Winnell sent some to me in a wonderful DT pack full of FWAB goodies!!!!!

It's time for another challenge on over at TOMIC
(The Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenge Blog)
Welcome to TOMIC Challenge # 15
    Chocolate (brown & cream)
Now who doesn't like chocolate, I just wish I didn't like it sooooooooooo much. So dig out your cooking related Magnolia's and join us, you could be the winner of  the surprise package of Magnolia goodies

Tilda with Cowberry Muffin - So Heavenly Travel & School Collection 2008
Chocolate Box - Tin Boxes - A little Yummy for your Tummy Collection 2009
Magnolia Doo Hickey Dies - Rose Leaf

I used my Cricut Die Cutting Machine and the new Sweet Tooth Boxes cartridge. You can fill it with cakes or leave it out insert and fill it with chocolates or some other delicious goodies.
The double choc chip muffins tasted better than they look.
I added the recipe inside the lid. (Oops forgot to take a photo).

I have coloured it with Copics, airbrushed the background, hoping to give it an aged/much loved look about it. I added some lace, beautiful flowers & bows, added the adorable Tilda panel, making a wonderful gift box to fill with delish goodies for someone special. I have not been a big lover of brown before, I don't know why because now I love it and you should be seeing a lot more of it in the future.

I hope you will stop by to visit the other Magnolia Design Team, they have made some amazing creations with lots of inspiration and it gives you a chance to play with your adorable Maggies.

Happy Birthday Magnolia Ink Magazine - Come & Join TOMIC to celebrate

    Hello Magnolia Lovers,

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAGNOLIA INK MAGAZINE

Hope you have had a wonderful weekend. Today is the start of a new challenge over at TOMIC. This week we have a very special celebration, we are celebrating the birthday of Magnolia Ink Magazine. The theme of Challenge 12 - Recycling as Magnolia use recycled paper for the magazine.

There will be a very special prize from Magnolia to celebrate. Hope you will join us & don't forget to stop by the other Design Team members to see all their amazing creations.

I used a breakfast cereal box, the cardboard weight is perfect for my tissue box. I love the finished result and I will definately recyle more often.

Meet Nurse Tilda Magnolia's newest collection - Winner Takes it All
I have also used Magnolia Paper from their Sweet Rainbow Collection

Magnolia Doohickey Cutting Dies, Rose Leaf, Vintage Flowers & Leaves & Heart Swirl

The flowers are from both Magnolia & Wild Orchid Crafts.

For my tissue box I used a tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers here.
My Cricut came in very handy to cut out my tissue box. I find working with imperial fractions a bit tricky, so I converted the fractions to decimal and loaded the dimensions, cutting them with a program called SCAL, making it so much easier.

Looking to buy Magnolia Stamps, Kellie at Tickled Pink Stamps stocks them plus loads of other amazing goodies, including her own quirky images. Race on over and join her newsletter at the same time.

    Rocking Tilda

    Happy Wednesday Friends,

I'm back with my promised card to share with you. This is Rocking Tilda from Magnolia's Sweet Rainbow Collection.  I remember when I was little, I had a sparkly pink hoola hoop just like it, but I was a bit unco and spent most of my time trying to keep it from falling to the ground.

The gorgeous papers are from the same collection, I love the pink gingham paper, it will be another favourite. The rainbow paper has such pretty colours and reminds me of gelato icecream, yum. I also love love love this sweet "Wishing You" text, it will perfect for so many occasions and the  fabulous Doohickey Dies I've used are Swirly Butterfly & Heart Swirl

I dusted off my Cricut to make this little matching purse, I'm sure this would brighten a little girls day if she received this with any little gift - I used the Forever Young Cartridge. The beautiful flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the flower border is a Martha Stewart punch.

I hope you'll join the new challenge Stitching Real or Faux this week at TOMIC The Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenge, the girls have made some more amazing creations with lots of inspiration.

It is long overdue for some blog candy, pop back in a few days and I will have something posted.
I hope you have a wonderful day.
