Fairytale Tilda

Hello Magnolia Lovers,

It's time for another Magnolia Down Under Challenge
# 39 - Stitching - it can be real machine stitching, hand stitching or faux. I love to incorporate a little stitching, I think it gives that homemade with love look.
The sponsor this week is the amazingly wonderful Bec from Bizzy Becs store, her customer service is fantastic.

I followed this sketch by fellow DT, the fabulously talented Jane, Jane is also a DT for Just Magnolia and she designed this sketch for their challenge this week, of course I had to play along, I love it, thanks Jane and can see myself using it a lot.

I have also entered this in the following challenges:
Totally Papercrafts Challenges - Pink & Green
Pollycraft Monday Challenge - Sparkly things
Crafty Calendar Challenge - Flower Power
Colour Create Challenge Blog - Pastels
Charisma Cards Challenges - Spring has Sprung
Incy Wincy Designs - Easter or Spring
Little Red Wagon - Inspiration Photo
Crafty Ann's  Challenge Blog - for someone special
Simon Says Challenge - Easter or Spring & some glimmer

I have used one of the soon to be released Magnolia stamps from the Fairytale Collection, this sweet image is none other than Fairytale Tilda (available soon at Magnolia Down Under), isn't she just magical, I have coloured her with copics, lots of star dust stickles, airbrushed the background with some yellow to give her a bit of a glow. Doily from Magnolia Down Under DT Kit, some of the flowers from Busy Becs. I have added some zig zag machine stitching around my card, I dusted off my poor neglected Cricut Die Cutting Machine to make this Doily shaped card, I used the Wild Card cartridge, and selected the blackout feature. Text stamp is by Kaisercraft. Tilda has been cut out and popped up with dimensionals. You can see better in this side view.

Looking for inspiration, stop by & see what the other Design Team Members have created for you, they are all amazing! Thanks for joining this wonderful challenge, I can't wait to see what you come up with & hope you will join us next week.

Coming Soon, Personalised Stamps, back by popular demand for a limited time only - Aussie stampers look out for them at Magnolia Down Under in April.

Also look out for this new release of the Fairy Tale Collection with gorgeous papers, cute Pirates, Little Princesses, and MANY MORE…. Sign up to Magnolia Down Under’s Newsletter to be sure NOT to miss a thing!

Thanks for visiting & I hope you all have a fantastic weekend.

Happy Monday to you all,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I am so sorry I haven't been able to visit your blogs lately, my family has had a medical emergency, I hope things improve soon.

This is a DT card for Magnolia Sweden, as you know they have just released some fabulous new Easter Stamps - the Hoppy Easter Collection. This is Tilda as Shephard and will be available very soon at Magnolia Down Under here. Happy Easter Text is from Magnolia's Easter Collection 2009.

Stamp & papers supplied by Magnolia Sweden in DT Kit, Doily supplied by Magnolia Down Under in DT Kit. This is my first Shaped Easel Card, the inspiration came from my fellow DT Debbie, here is her amazing creation. I've coloured with Copics markers and cut the shaped card with my Cricut Die Cutting machine.

This just so happens to fit the challenge at at Just Magnolia
Easel Cards, my very favourite.

This is Sweet Tilda from Magnolia's - Raising the Ceiling and  Right Through my Heart Collection, Sweet Tilda a perfect name for her don't you think. Happy Birthday text by Hero Arts and sentiment is from Stamp It. I've coloured her with Copics, airbrushed the background with some buttery yellow to given her a little glow and added some stickles here and there to give her a little sparkle. Happy Easter - Easel Card

Happy Sunday to you all,

It's time for another Magnolia Down Under Challenge - This week we ask you to make an Easel Card, my very favourite, turning an ordinary card into an extrordinary card.

This week the sponsor is My Creative Classroom - wow a $25 Scholarship - Choose classes from Cricut to Copics to mixed media to rubber stamping to scrapbooking they have something for everyone.

Also entered in the following Challenges:
Just Magnolia - Sketch by Jay Jay - love the sketch Jay Jay (sketch rotated)
Pile it On - Flowers
Simon Says Challenge - Recipe Challenge, 2 patterned papers (hoping you can see the patterned paper under the ribbon & 3 embellies (ribbon, flowers & border punch) & 1 image.

Card Recipe
Easel Card closed size 15cm x 15cm (6" x6")
Magnolia Stamps - Tilda Hugging Bunny & Sentiment - Happy Easter (Squiggly) from Easter Collection 2009, Loving Wishes - Winter Stamp Kit/Raising the Ceiling.
Paper - Pale Blue Spots by Bella - Ever After Collection, Pale Pink peeking out from under ribbon Kaisercraft - Hopscotch & the CS is by American Crafts.
Colouring - Copic Markers
Tools - Spellbinders - Rectangles, Scallops & Fancy Labels, Scor Pal, Martha Stewart Border
Other - Ribbon, Flowers, Stickles - Star Dust. Machine Stitching - straight & zig zag.

My finished card size is 15cm square (6")

supplies needed:
Cardstock 30cm x 15cm (12"x6")
Cardstock -15cm x 15cm (6"x6")
score tool/scor pal
Scor Tape/Red Tape or strong adhesive

Easel Card 15cm square cut 30cm x15cm piece of cardstock - score at 15cm & 7.5cm (6" & 3") vertically - valley fold both score lines.

Embellish card front - attach to card base, I find it easier to close the card, sticking the front to the closed card, it's easier to line up.  To hold the card in place you need to add a button, pop dot or some sort of dimension for the card to catch on to keep it from closing.

They are a lot easier to make than you might think and they come with a warning, they are very addictive. Easel cards can be made in all sorts of shapes and sizes.

To resize all you need to remember is score your card in half and then in half again.
Example of sizes: 12.5cm (5") square
Cardstock 25cm (10") x 12.5cm (5") - score at 12.5 (5") & 6.25cm (2.5")

Hope you will stop by & see what the other Design Team Members have created for you, they are all amazing! Thanks for joining this wonderful challenge, I can't wait to see what you come up with & hope you will join us next week. Remember the Design Team have been split into 2 groups - this week it is Group 1 - Debbie, Kellie, Kristy, Jane, Jodie, Stephanne & Guests Christine & Nicole

Have a wonderful week & remember you only have a until next Saturday to enter, happy crafting.

Valentine's Vintage Tilda

Hello Lovelies,

Sorry, I am a behind again this week, after catching up from my Christmas holiday break.  Then last week I was struck down with a virus, it started with a bad headache that lasted a few days and grew from there. A very quick post from me today. Thank you to everyone for visiting and leaving such wonderful comments, I will drop by soon to leave you some love in return. Cyber hugs to you all and again thank you.

This card was made for the Challenge over at
Just Magnolia - Hearts & Flowers.
If you are looking for inspiration, visit Just Magnolia's talented DT's, their creations are amazing.

& Cute Card Thursday - Blooming Gorgeous

Oops, I did not realise at the time of making this card how similar it is to my Christmas Card, oh well at least I'm consistent.

As most of you know I love flowers, I've used a mixture of flowers, some heart paper, a heart button sewn onto the silk bow. The images are both from Magnolia, another favourite from the latest Christmas collection So Jolly & Under the Mistletoe, Vintage Tilda, perfect for occasions all year round. The doily is from the wonderful Kellie of Magnolia Down Under. Coloured with copic markers.

Have a great week.

Thinking of You - Edwin

Hello Everyone,

I hope you have had a wonderful start to the week, yesterday was Australia Day, we had friends over to help celebrate with a BBQ and a swim. The weather has been so strange this week, storms, heat wave conditions and then the next day it is cool. Anyways, enough of my waffle.

This stamp is from the new Magnolia Raising the Ceiling Collection, Heartbreaker Edwin, such a perfect name for this adorable stamp and a new favourite for me, so many favourites. You can pre-order him from Kellie's - Magnolia Down Under Store.

I really enjoyed following this sketch, thanks Jay Jay. If you are looking for inspiration, visit Just Magnolia's talented DT's, their creations are amazing.

I have also entered this in the following challenges:
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Challenge 88 Freestyle
Everybody Art Challenge - Challenge 75 - Brown Blue & White

I stamped Heartbreaker Edwin twice for dimension. Coloured with Copic markers, the gorgeous papers are from my Christmas stash, MME The Merry Days of Christmas and the MS border is my new favourite, not new to MS collectors, but new to me. I distressed the edges, then a little sewing to give it that handmade with love look and inked the oval with Tea Dye Distress ink, the sentiment is from Hero Arts, I added some tiny heart punches and half pearls by Kaisercraft , added  the beautiful flowers and silk ribbon. (The colour of the ribbon did not photograph the true colour it is a better match in real life, oh well)

I also wanted to say a huge thank you to Janiel from ScrappyJan Designs for this fabulous blog award. I appreciate it and feel very honoured, thanks Janiel - if you have not visited Janiel's blog, you are missing out big time.

So many wonderful blogs, I would like to pass this onto everyone who visits me, thanks you so much, your visits and comments brighten my day. Thank you to each & everyone of you. Have a wonderful week.

Merry Christmas - Sweet Noel

Happy Wednesday Friends,

I have entered this card at Just Magnolia - It's Christmas
& it can be anything Christmassy

Hope you are having a wonderful week so far and enjoying your Christmas preparations. I can't believe only 9 more sleeps to Christmas and I am still making Christmas cards, I'm too fussy.

For this card I was inspired by a very talented stamper, her name is Monie, see her card here. I love how she combined these 2 stamps. I am inspired by all of Monie's beautiful work.

I made this card for a friend using my new Magnolia stamps - Sparkling Tilda & Noel from the new Christmas collection, So Jolly Under the Mistletoe.  Tilda was stamped first, then masked before stamping Noel, coloured with copics, added lots of stickles. Papers - Magnolia & Websters Pages - Home for the Holidays & Winter's Wings, not much needs adding to these beautiful papers. Kaisercraft gems for berries, gold bow and some gorgeous flowers sprayed with glimmer mist. Spellbinder Nesties - labels. This is the first tradional coloured Christmas card I've made this year, so unusual for me, I love red so much. Not a lot of colouring with this one, but with the gorgeous papers, flowers & Easel card, I think it works quite nicely.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays.

Another Shadowbox Christmas Card

Hello Happy Saturday Friends,

I have entered this card at Just Magnolia - It's Christmas
& it can be anything Christmassy.

Hope you are all ready for Christmas, I am still madly making cards and Christmas goodies. A short & sweet post today. I now alternate between shadowbox & easel cards, I just love them.

This little Angel is from Magnolia's So Jolly Under the Mistletoe Collection as is the Merry Christmas sentiment and the gorgeous papers. I've machine stitched & added lots of stickles, silk bow, my new MS border punch and some yummy flowers. May all your wishes come true sentiment stamp - by Hero Arts. Coloured with Copics. This tilda is from Bizzy Becs online store along with some of these gorgeous flowers.

I wanted to send a friend this beautiful Tilda as a Guardian Angel to watch over them.

Happy Wishes

This was made for Just Magnolia Challenge 28 Martine's Sketch. My first entry with Just Magnolia and my very first sketch challenge. I've entered a few challenges recently, but not sketch challenges. This was harder than I thought, here's me thinking a sketch would be easy to follow, but my mojo went for a huge walk. What made it harder, I decided to challenge myself a little further and mix pattern papers, Basic Grey makes it easy bringing out little collections of beautiful papers, but I normally play it safe and use one pattern with coloured cs.

Tilda with Cowberry Muffin is one of the new stamps I just received as a prize for Magnolia-licious's World Card Making Day Challenge, the prize was to pick any 3 Magnolia stamps from Magnolia-licious Store. Thanks again to Suzanne Dean for hosting the event & for Diana Crick's generosity. I stamped Tilda out a couple of times  for dimension, coloured her with my Copics and airbrushed the Nestie Oval. I hand cut the oval mats, I find the Nestie Ovals are not big enough, even with the set of 4. Hopefully with the distressing you can't notice how crooked they are. Flowers from existing stash, spotted flower cut with MS punch to match DP.  Distressed the paper edges. I tried for a bit of a shabby chic look to this card,  but I'm worried I ended up with a bit too shabby & not enough chic end result.

Magnolia Tilda with Cowberry Muffin, DP Lemonade by Basic Grey, all punches by Martha Stewart, pearl border by Kaisercraft, Sentiment - Hero Arts, ribbon & flower centres from stash.
