It's looking a lot like Christmas

Happy Sunday Everyone,

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #27 - Something for Christmas

Wow, another scorcher today, I'll be glad when this heat wave is over, I don't like the hot weather and can't wait for it to cool down a little.

I am sorry,  I have not posted much again this week, I've spent most of this week in hospital, I went in for some tests on Tuesday, allowed home then readmitted due to complications.

Secondly, we have a new  9 week old puppy, a female West Highland White Terrier, called Ruby. I hope to catch up with some blog hopping to see what you creative people have been up to over the last few weeks. (my fellow DT member Debbie made me laugh, she emailed letting me know it sounded like my complications with my hospital visits produced a puppy - ROFLOL!!!, so I have changed the wording a little. heheheheh, thanks Debbie)

The challenge for Magnolia Down Under is Something Christmas and is sponsored by Kellie of Magnolia Down Under,  the prize is a fabulous Magnolia stamp - Sitting Tilda with Candy the So Jolly & Under the Mistletoe Christmas 2009 Collection. Kellie also has some beautiful lace & other goodies in her store now along with a 20% discount on Christmas Stamps from now until Wednesday November 25th, a great time to stock on up the adorable new collection.

I love Christmas, my favourite time of year. For this challenge I decided to make a Bon Bon/Christmas Cracker and a gift bag. I was lucky enough to be visiting Rachel Jakes blog and discovered her wonderful Hand Made Cracker tutorial & the gift bag was cut with my Cricut Expression Die Cutting machine. Don't worry if you don't have a Cricut, you can still decorate a pre-bought gift bag.

Magnolia Stamps - Tilda with Candy Cane & Tilda with Heart Ornament both from Christmas 2008 Collection. DP - My Minds Eye, The Merry Days of Christmas Collection, Copic Markers, Silk Ribbon - Maya Rd, Spellbinder - Nesties, Gift Bag & Holly - Cricut Plantin Schookbook, Sentiment Stamp & Poinsettia Flower - Hero Arts, Diamond Stickles, Red Rhinestones - Kaisercraft.

Hope you will stop by & see what the other Design Team Members have created for you! Thanks for joining this wonderful challenge, I can't wait to see what you come up with & hope to see you join us again next challenge.

Jodie, Jodie, Jodie, or waffle #3, (hehehe...) For someone that not long got out of hospital but still insisted to make your DT work this is absolutely AMAZING! Only wished we lived closer so you could teach me a thing or 5, lol! Your idea is gorgeous and I will definitely be giving the bon bon a go, something I have thought of doing for a while now. So thank you for an amazing inspiration to all joining in this fortnight and including myself.

Jodie, hope your feeling better, sorry to hear you had an overnight at the hospital.

Your projects are wonderful. Those red ribbons really set off your gift box and cracker. My kids love crackers and can't wait on Christmas Eve to see what's inside! Tilda's are colored so beautifully, love the candy cane Tilda especially. Love the paper you used on the cracker also.

Feel better, thinking of you. Big Hug!

Congrats on the new baby, the puppy!!!

Oh this is a fabulous project Jodie! I checked out the tutorial too. We don't have the cracker tradition here much so I don't think the items listed are so readily available here in the States. I did make some "faux" ones for Halloween but they would have been so much more fun if they would have "cracked". Hope you're doing okay. the puppy sounds like fun but the hospital doesn't. Hugs, D
