Sweet Tilda Birthday Style

Happy Saturday Stampers,

I just wanted to thank you all for your congrats and sweet comments re my excitement of becoming a Magnolia DT. I received serveral hundred emails and have been trying to stop by your blogs to thank you.

Wow, it has been almost a week since posting a project, I have had my sick Mum staying with me, anyways yes another Easel Card. I wanted it to be bright & springy, with so many of my blogging friends living in colder parts of the world, I know they are so looking forward to Spring. Here in Australia it has been so hot I am looking forward to Winter, anyways, this fits the following challenges
Magnolia-licious March Home Page Challenge - Bright
Everybody Art Challenge - Easel Cards
Cute Card Thursday - Ribbon-Tastic
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Distress Inks or Pearls & Glitter
This is Sweet Tilda from Magnolia's - Raising the Ceiling and  Right Through my Heart Collection, Sweet Tilda a perfect name for her don't you think. Happy Birthday text by Hero Arts and sentiment is from Stamp It. I've coloured her with Copics, airbrushed the background with some buttery yellow to given her a little glow and added some stickles here and there to give her a little sparkle. The gorgeous papers are by Kaisercraft and of course my much loved flowers & silk bows are a must.

Magnolia Down Under Challenge # 35 - Easter - it is not my turn this week, but you must see what the Design Team have come up with. their creations are amazing. Simon Says is the sponsor this week, woohoo, you can win a $25 shopping voucher. Big news Magnolia Down Under Challenges has moved to Blogger here is the new link, please remember to add the new address to your favourites. You don't need Easter Stamps to enter, but please remember you must use a Magnolia Stamp even if it is only a sentiment stamp

If you are thinking of buying some Magnolia Stamps, don't put it off too long... Kellie at Magnolia Down Under Store has reopened and is having a sale, this includes the adorable new Hoppy Easter Collection, stop by and see all the goodies she now stocks including some delish flowers, but hurry the sale ends soon.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have time to fit in some stamping over the weekend and again thanks for all your wonderful comments and emails. Have a great weekend. Big hugs Jodie from Oz

Happy Easter - Easel Card

Happy Sunday to you all,

It's time for another Magnolia Down Under Challenge - This week we ask you to make an Easel Card, my very favourite, turning an ordinary card into an extrordinary card.

This week the sponsor is My Creative Classroom - wow a $25 Scholarship - Choose classes from Cricut to Copics to mixed media to rubber stamping to scrapbooking they have something for everyone.

Also entered in the following Challenges:
Just Magnolia - Sketch by Jay Jay - love the sketch Jay Jay (sketch rotated)
Pile it On - Flowers
Simon Says Challenge - Recipe Challenge, 2 patterned papers (hoping you can see the patterned paper under the ribbon & 3 embellies (ribbon, flowers & border punch) & 1 image.

Card Recipe
Easel Card closed size 15cm x 15cm (6" x6")
Magnolia Stamps - Tilda Hugging Bunny & Sentiment - Happy Easter (Squiggly) from Easter Collection 2009, Loving Wishes - Winter Stamp Kit/Raising the Ceiling.
Paper - Pale Blue Spots by Bella - Ever After Collection, Pale Pink peeking out from under ribbon Kaisercraft - Hopscotch & the CS is by American Crafts.
Colouring - Copic Markers
Tools - Spellbinders - Rectangles, Scallops & Fancy Labels, Scor Pal, Martha Stewart Border
Other - Ribbon, Flowers, Stickles - Star Dust. Machine Stitching - straight & zig zag.

My finished card size is 15cm square (6")

supplies needed:
Cardstock 30cm x 15cm (12"x6")
Cardstock -15cm x 15cm (6"x6")
score tool/scor pal
Scor Tape/Red Tape or strong adhesive

Easel Card 15cm square cut 30cm x15cm piece of cardstock - score at 15cm & 7.5cm (6" & 3") vertically - valley fold both score lines.

Embellish card front - attach to card base, I find it easier to close the card, sticking the front to the closed card, it's easier to line up.  To hold the card in place you need to add a button, pop dot or some sort of dimension for the card to catch on to keep it from closing.

They are a lot easier to make than you might think and they come with a warning, they are very addictive. Easel cards can be made in all sorts of shapes and sizes.

To resize all you need to remember is score your card in half and then in half again.
Example of sizes: 12.5cm (5") square
Cardstock 25cm (10") x 12.5cm (5") - score at 12.5 (5") & 6.25cm (2.5")

Hope you will stop by & see what the other Design Team Members have created for you, they are all amazing! Thanks for joining this wonderful challenge, I can't wait to see what you come up with & hope you will join us next week. Remember the Design Team have been split into 2 groups - this week it is Group 1 - Debbie, Kellie, Kristy, Jane, Jodie, Stephanne & Guests Christine & Nicole

Blog Awards

Hello Peoples,

I don't have any creations to show you today. I received some awards from some wonderful blogging lovelies last week and time once again has crept up on me. Please accept my apologies for the lateness of this post Ladies.

I received this award from the Jenni of Jennibee's Cardspot. Jenni is new to the world of blogging but you would not think so when you visit and see her amazing creations. Jenni has the most amazing punched floral arragements I have ever seen.

I received this award from Kylie of Kylie's Craft Corner. You must stop by Kylie's Blog, she has so many wonderful creations.

7 things about me (in no particular order):
1. I talk too much (or so my DH says)
2. I love chocolate (ok who doesn't)
3. I love to sleep late (again who doesn't)
4. I love to shop (you should see my flower stash)
5. I can't get by without my coffee
6. I love to spend time with family and friends
7. I love to stamp, colour and design (I know, nothing new)

Wow what a small world, both of these Ladies live not very far from me in the Newcastle/Hunter Valley NSW Australia. Again thanks Jenni & Kylie for the awards.

I am breaking the rules by not passing this on anyone in particular, but I have so many wonderful bloggers, I dedicate these awards to all of my wonderful followers, you really inspire me with all your wonderful creations. I thank you for stopping by and leaving the nicest comments, they really do make  my day very special.

This fits the Challenge at Just Magnolia - Easter Basket/Container
my 1st entry was an Easter Basket (see previous post) made with the help of Lena Katrine - amazing Tutorial but for my 2nd entry - this still fits as an Easter Container.

Also my first entry over on the Double Dutch Challenge Blog this week their Challenge is - Be my Valentine - anything for Valentine related, can be a card, box or other project

Another first entry over on Pile it On  Challenge Blog - Challenge 5 - To the One you Love - is all about the person or pet that we love

If you are looking for inspiration, visit Just Magnolia's talented DT's, their creations are amazing, Thanks Ladies

You all know how much I love flowers, well I thought this paper mache box would be perfect for a gift for friends birthday filled with some goodies.

The sweet image is Magnolia's Wrapped Tilda from the So Jolly & Under the Mistletoe Christmas Collection, but she is perfect for so many occasions. My Fellow DT Tracey from MDUC stampped this sweet image for me before Christmas, but I ran out of time to ink her up. Thanks so much Trace, I love her. I've coloured her with Copics, BG & MME papers, MS border punch, flowers, silk ribbon & braid from my ever growing stash.

Don't forget Kellie at Magnolia Down Under has some of the Yummy for you Tummy stamps now in stock and is taking pre-orders for the new Raising the Ceiling Collection due in very soon.  The store stocks a big range of other goodies, distress inks, beautiful lace, Magnolia Papers & lots more.

Have a great week.

Happy Sunday Everyone,

I have also entered this in the Challenge at Just Magnolia
Easter Basket/Container
Special Monthly Challenge Tutorial by Lena Katrine -
here is the Tutorial
I really enjoyed making this wonderful project, thanks Lena.

& thanks to Kellie, I have entered this in the Challenge at
Cute Card Thursday - Spots & Dots

Kellie has donated the fabulous prize this week, & it happens to be my favourite stamp
Oops from the Yummy for your Tummy Collection, beautiful flowers, lace & some fabulous Magnolia paper.

I am so sorry the photo is such poor quality, I am having a few problems with my camera and had to borrow my neighbours. I am hoping to take a few more photos with some close ups over the next few days.

I sent my DH off to buy some Easter goodies for my photo shoot, he returned with bag fulls, not knowing what I wanted & of course I had to taste test them all to see what would be best for the photo LOL.

I bought this sweet image a while ago and have been itching to ink her up, called Bunny Tilda, the sentiment is from Magnolia also. I stamped the image twice to give it some extra dimension around her tummy (probably too much chocolate LOL), coloured with copics. I added some machine stitching. Patterned Paper, gray spot - October Afternoon, border punch - EK success, Star Dust Stickles, Diamonte swirls - Prima, CS, ribbon & flowers from stash.

Hope you will stop by & see what the other Design Team Members have created for you, they are all amazing! Thanks for joining this wonderful challenge, I can't wait to see what you come up with & hoping you will join us next week, for our new weekly challenge.

Remember the Design Team have been split into 2 groups -
this week it is Group 1

Valentine's Vintage Tilda

Hello Lovelies,

Sorry, I am a behind again this week, after catching up from my Christmas holiday break.  Then last week I was struck down with a virus, it started with a bad headache that lasted a few days and grew from there. A very quick post from me today. Thank you to everyone for visiting and leaving such wonderful comments, I will drop by soon to leave you some love in return. Cyber hugs to you all and again thank you.

This card was made for the Challenge over at
Just Magnolia - Hearts & Flowers.
If you are looking for inspiration, visit Just Magnolia's talented DT's, their creations are amazing.

& Cute Card Thursday - Blooming Gorgeous

Oops, I did not realise at the time of making this card how similar it is to my Christmas Card, oh well at least I'm consistent.

As most of you know I love flowers, I've used a mixture of flowers, some heart paper, a heart button sewn onto the silk bow. The images are both from Magnolia, another favourite from the latest Christmas collection So Jolly & Under the Mistletoe, Vintage Tilda, perfect for occasions all year round. The doily is from the wonderful Kellie of Magnolia Down Under. Coloured with copic markers.

Have a great week.
